Context
So before we get started, let me give you some context. I am currently enrolled as a student at the University of Texas at Dallas. I am assisting in a lab that is currently focused on photogrammetry, and as part of my independent study, I am to work on a creative project using one of those scans. That project is what I will be covering in my blog posts for the next few weeks. That being said, this blog will go over my idea, reference, and my rough storyboard. My drawing skills are not up to par, so please bear with me.
The Vision
My initial idea came after we scanned a wine vessel, courtesy of the Crow Museum.

The idea was to have the wine flow past the screen, cut, and then splash on the ground. The water then collects in on itself and moves upward, forming into the wine vessel. I am planning to follow this tutorial by CG Artist Academy and this tutorial by Doxia Studio to help me complete the shots.
Reference

I was inspired by the works of Markus Gonser. You can check him out here.
His fluid simulations are what initially caught my eye and made me want to pursue this independent study.

I also used these shots from Already Been Chewed as reference for my ideas. I really like the movements as it flows across the screen and even how the fluid forms the solid body of the object.
Storyboard

As you can see, the drawings do require a little bit of imagination, but it should get the message across. Referring back to my references should help fill in the gaps for now. In my next blog, I will hopefully go over my first passes of these shots, and I'll show my workflow and node tree setup. I'm super excited to be working on this project, and I can't wait to see how the final results turn out. See you guys then!
