4th Quarter Comeback
Hello, and welcome to the climactic finale of this project. In this blog, I will talk about my process for creating this video, what cuts I had to make, and what I would do differently. The Seasons The first thing I did was set up the environment for each season. This was my node tree setup. I showed the rendered stills I had in my last blog, but you will see them again in the video later in this blog. I utilized the switch node to switch between environments on certain fr

Beginning Of The End
In my last blog, I went over my new idea of the direction I wanted to take this project in, as well as my new storyboard. Critiques I took my idea in for reviews, and good news: everyone loved it! They all really like the ideas and the story that the short is telling. However, they are all in agreement with my previous assessment. The scope of the project is far too large for how much time I have left. My professor told me that I had to find a way to tell the same story in f

Back To The Drawing Board
In my last blog, I went over the second pass of my final project. However, it seems that maybe the original idea that I had was lacking some substance. So I decided to dig deeper. Rocky Progress
Hey! Welcome back to the next step of my ongoing fluid project. In the last blog, I went over my first pass of the two shots that I was working on for my final project. In this blog, I am going to go over how I connected the two shots, and also how I decided to comp the forming shot together New Transition So last time I talked about how the water was going to be taking a new path of motion, almost spiraling upwards and then dropping down. Here is what I got for that. I'm pr

First Pass
Welcome back! Last blog, I went over my general plan and my (really) rough storyboard. Now you can see the fruits of my labor! Swirl I first worked on this swirling fluid effect. I followed this tutorial by CG Artist Academy to create it. The setup is quite simple. First, you create a Bezier curve. Then, you simulate particles on it and attach a pop curve force node to move it along the curve. You also add a popfluid node to make the particles act more fluid-like and a pop

Creative Project Start
Context So before we get started, let me give you some context. I am currently enrolled as a student at the University of Texas at Dallas. I am assisting in a lab that is currently focused on photogrammetry, and as part of my independent study, I am to work on a creative project using one of those scans. That project is what I will be covering in my blog posts for the next few weeks. That being said, this blog will go over my idea, reference, and my rough storyboard. My draw
